Requiring in-presence voting is both expensive and adds to the corruption of our elected officials. Voting by video chat would allow our representatives to spend more time in their local districts, conversing and interacting with their real constituents. It would also cut down on air travel to the capitol. It seems that every person who gets elected to congress promises to "Change Washington" and then inevitably falls victim to the existing corruption and distraction due to proximity. The video stream would have to be secured and encrypted. The act of voting should require the representative's state seal or district seal physically in the background. The Speaker or Majority Leader would probably have to have the power to require an in-person vote.
