I support the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act, H.R. 1094/S. 541. I am against the cruel slaughter of American horses. American horses should not be slaughtered for human consumption. Many American battles were won on the back of an American horse. They are not food. I am also concerned that if our country exports horsemeat, there is a chance it could be a tainted and unsafe product for human consumption. The reputation of the entire U.S. food industry is at risk selling slaughtered horsemeat to other countries.
