We encourage the Obama Administration to support Senator Bernie Sanders in his efforts to make "Democracy Day" a national election holiday. This will allow as many people as possible to have enough time off to go out and vote. We as Americans must encourage as much participation in the political process as possible, instead of suppressing peoples votes. There is something fundamentally wrong when tens of millions of Americans are not voting in a country that boasts of its democracy. This is not going to fix all of the problems that voters face, but it is a start.
Democracy Day would take place the Tuesday after the first Monday of November on even-numbered years.
