Support the Social Work Reinvestment Act

Created by C.B. on November 01, 2013

While many people may think of social work as a pejorative; the reality is that social workers labor tirelessly to look after the tired, poor, huddled masses who yearn to be free from injustice. We respond to human suffering in hospitals, homeless shelters, foster homes, drug treatment facilities, mental health units, schools, and prisons.

There are roughly 650,000 social workers currently employed in the United States. We live out the mission to care for the most vulnerable populations. We work these jobs not just for our salaries; we live a much bigger mission, a mission of love and justice.

The Social Work Reinvestment Act will aid in the development of social workers. Please, President Obama, support the Social Work Reinvestment Act so that social workers can support America.
