support the start of the nuclear power renaissance to insure a successful energy infrastructure for the nation's future.

Created by G.L. on October 26, 2011

American utilities are unable to start a nuclear renaissance by themselves, they need help from the government. In the meanwhile, utilities are busy up-rating and extending the lifetime of their nuclear power plants because they know it's the safest (no deaths), cleanest (near-zero greenhouse emissions), and cheapest (fossil fuel is getting more expensive and alternatives are still the most expensive method). Currently, utilities are being forced to buy alternative energies (solar and wind) which is several times more expensive (tax-payers pay the difference) and are now replacing coal with natural gas to adhere to new emission limits. The government needs to help with the initial expensive start of this renaissance until costs decline due to mass production. We'll lose 104 reactors soon.
