Much of our political stalemate comes from blind loyalty to one party or another. Additionally, senior members of Congress have undue influence over junior colleagues and therefore have undue influence over the political process.
By instituting terms limits we can:
- Reduce the effect of special interest lobbyists
- Provide more equal representation of the people
- Stop redistricting that allows lifetime re-election
- Return to a system of citizen legislators
- Find common ground
We recommend that only the HoR terms be limited so each state can elect two senators for as long as they feel they are well represented.
