Multinational corporations reap profits from U.S. citizens; enjoy military protection; exploit our legal framework and are subsidized by U.S. infrastructure.
Yet most Americans do not benefit: Technical and manufacturing jobs are outsourced, imported workers displace American job seekers, industries are sold to foreign corporations and shipped abroad while American living standards collapse.
Thus we support the following policy:
1. Import tariffs that offset lost wages and jobs
2. Replacing tax deductions and credits for offshoring with tax penalties that offset job losses
3. Tax credits to retool manufacturing and education tax credits to energize technical innovation
4. Capping or reducing work visas until unemployment falls to 5%
Protecting America must include defending American jobs.
