Support a unified database tracking impaired drivers across all states. Flag DWI drivers seeking a license in each state

Created by L.W. on October 27, 2011

DWI motorists have traditionally been able to move to a new state & seek a new license without fulfilling sanction requirements from their home state.

Some have had their license suspended or revoked. Others need an interlock.

When they move & request a license, often the new state does not realize that this is a multiple DWI offender & they can "start fresh" driving impaired in a new state.

This is a serious issue when an offender creates a license under an assumed name or a variation of their existing name.

If all states adopted the "facial recognition program" as implemented by the New York State DMV, we would be able to identify these drivers quickly.

This would prevent countless DWI tragedies.

It is also a good time to consider putting ignition interlocks on ALL vehicles.
