Support a United Nations peace keeping mission to the Central African Republic.

Created by K.N. on April 16, 2014

The Central African Republic is currently at extremely high risk for Genocide. C.A.R. has been ruled for decades by corrupt military governments. Underlying religious and ethnic anxieties have been exacerbated by problematic governance, extended underdevelopment, and commonplace human rights violations. In recent months ethno-religious tensions have erupted into armed conflict between Christian and Muslim militias. The widespread violence has directly targeted civilian populations resulting the murder of thousands and displacement of hundreds of thousands. C.A.R.'s security forces have been largely complicit in and/or participated in the atrocities. We petition the US government to do its part in fulfilling the international community's responsibility to protect victims of mass atrocity.
