On August 18, 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing women the right to vote in the United States of America. Susan B. Anthony, and many other individuals, have devoted their lives to ensuring equal rights for women. A new federal holiday should be declared to honor Susan B. Anthony and all that she fought for. Our nation has come a long way, but we must never forget those who brought us here or take the rights that many worked so hard to obtain for granted.
