1) A large portion of Egypt's population bear ill will to the United States and some of its allies, particularly Israel.
2) Additionally, given the recent political instability in North Africa and the regime change in Egypt itself, we cannot be reasonably assured that military aid will be used in such a way that is in the best interest of the United States and its allies.
3) Spending United States treasure and resources on other countries in the current economic crisis is fiscally irresponsible, even reckless, regardless of how laudable the cause.
I hereby petition the United States government to suspend all military aid to Egypt immediately and indefinitely.
