We the people of the United States, in order to safe guard and create a more perfect Union, do hereby request the Obama Administration to pass legislation that denies paid compensation and benefits to members of Congress in the event of a government shutdown. When a government shut down keeps hard working, honest citizens of the United States from exercising their unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by reporting to their Government Jobs and drawing a paycheck and benefits, members Congress should not be allowed to continue to draw their salary and benefits. We, the concerned citizens of the United States, do hereby urge the Obama Administration to create legislation that suspends the pay and benefits of members of Congress in the event of a shutdown.
