From racial profiling (http://tinyurl.com/arimig) to women's rights (http://tinyurl.com/arabor), one state of the union makes headlines with its un-American laws more than any other: Arizona.
Now, AZ's state legislature is considering a proposal to require a religious oath of fealty from students in order to graduate High School (http://tinyurl.com/aroath).
Enough is enough. Rather than fighting these laws in court, the federal government should take proactive steps to ensure AZ's legislative process produces laws in accordance with the US Constitution.
We recommend that the White House cease all federal funding to AZ, dismiss Arizona's members of Congress, and take any other appropriate measures until AZ holds a state Constitutional convention and creates a suitable state government.
