Suspend the death penalty indefinitely.

Created by P.P. on March 12, 2014

We call for President Obama to suspend all executions indefinitely.

In recent decades, more than a dozen people have been exonerated after being sentenced to death, and while there is no process for post-execution exoneration, a Northwestern University study found that at least 39 people have been executed "in face of compelling evidence of innocence or serious doubt about guilt."

We cannot lead the world in human rights when we are denying innocents the most basic right: Life. The only way to guarantee that innocents are not executed is to not execute anyone.
