Oil companies and refineries have been exporting gasoline and diesel fuel produced in this country to artificially inflate the price at the pump charged to working Americans. This practice must stop until such time as fuel prices come down domestically. These corporations are not exporting our surpluses, they are exporting what we require to maintain our lives.
President Obama should issue and Executive Order requiring the Commerce Department to suspend the export licenses of all diesel and gasoline refineries and exporters until the price of a gallon of gasoline and the price of a gallon of diesel drops below $1 per gallon.
This will provide immediate stimulus to the economy, create jobs and put hundreds of dollars a month back in to the pockets of working people across the country.
