If we truly wish to honor our heritage along with our service men and women, we need to honor them by stabilizing our nation's future. Our fiscal instability threatens our continued success as a nation. I believe that we should all sacrifice equally to change this. Communities around our nation spend an unprecedented amount of money on firework celebrations. Small towns spend an average $20,000 where larger celebrations cost far more. The fireworks alone for the Macy's 4th of July celebration are estimated around 6 to 8 million dollars. That is not taking into account musical coordination or accompanying light shows. This is an event we all equally love and if we simply do without for a year or two we will quickly be back to where we deserve to be. Do the math this will all quickly add up
