Congress' inability to reach a consensus on how to reduce the deficit and sign a new budget into law has resulted in the implementation of the hugely detrimental Sequestration. They have failed to do their job, and the American people will suffer for it. Their inaction is proof of their own selfishness and greed. Until they are given a true incentive, they will continue to debate, and argue, and ultimately accomplish nothing.
By suspending the pay of those whose inaction has lead up to this point, we accomplish two goals:
1) Reduce the deficit by using the money saved.
2) Use their own sense self-preservation as a catalyst for them to finally reach an agreement and end Sequestration.
