Taxpayers should "pay for performance" from their elected officials. Non-performance and grid lock should not be allowed to be the "new normal". All of Congress (Senate and House Representatives) should be allowed one week to debate and arrive at a solution to any matter they have jurisdiction over. Any matter should not be allowed to be tabled due to partisan bickering. Pay, perks and medical benefits should be suspended until such time as a solution is forthcoming. After three weeks and should this not result in proper job performance, the next step would be to fine each official a per day monetary amount ($2,000) until such time as they choose to do their job on a timely basis.
