Suspend the pay of Congress in the event of a government shutdown.

Created by E.Y. on September 29, 2013

In the event of a government shutdown, Congress would still receive a paycheck. I suggest, we the people, hold them accountable for a failure to do the job we hired them to complete. It is time to end the childish bickering of our elected officials. Active duty military, FAA employees, TSA workers and other federal employees would be forced to work with no paychecks even though their actions have had nothing to do with the government shutdown. We need to motivate Congress to get the job done. Maybe if they can’t make their mortgage payment, or pay their utility bill, or are unable to buy food for their families it will bring them back to reality and force them to be more reasonable in making a compromise to prevent future government shutdowns.
