The House of Representatives in particular has been negligent and irresponsible in their excessive absences and recesses. This could just as easily be the Senate so this petition applies to both Houses but our representatives already receive a ridiculous amount of perks, per diems, and allowances that come out of taxpayer money. The House of Representatives has gotten nearly nothing done in years, is literally the least productive Congress in history, AND takes off multiple weeks any time they want to avoid an issue that they think may negatively affect their ratings.
No American citizen can act this way in their job and expect to be paid for it. Both Houses should be subject to pay suspensions for taking a majority of any week off.
