Suspend salaries & benefits and deny vacation/recess to Congress when deficit/economy decision deadlines are not met.

Numerous times over the past few years, Congress has refused to compromise and reach agreements about balancing the budget and managing the deficit. Americans are told that social security payments will stop, our military will not be paid, or that the stock market will suffer if deadlines are not met, but there seems to be no negative consequences to members of Congress for allowing themselves to remain in grid-lock.
Members of Congress should not earn salaries, benefits, or be permitted to take any type of vacation from the moment that one of these deadlines is reached until a decision is made. Congress should be forced to remain in regular session until a compromise is reached and action is appropriately taken. Compensation lost during these lapses should NOT be reimbursed.
