The American people pay taxes to support the federal government. Portions of these taxes pay the salary (and life long pensions) of members of the senate and house. These members are paid rather handsomely with a $174,000 base salary. For the last 7 years the members have done little or nothing for the American people. In fact, they have done everything they could to prevent doing anything for the American people. If they refuse to do their job, they shouldn't get paid. Let's take their salary and give it back to the taxpayers since they don't feel the need to work for a living. They already work far less than the average American at an average of 139 days a year. A typical full time worker works 261 days a year providing they don't have a second job to help make ends meet.
