Suspend US broadcast of Russian news channels for incitement of violence in Crimea, eastern Ukraine and around the world

Created by M.B. on March 23, 2014

Channel 1 Russia, Russia 24, RTR Planeta, NTV and Russia Today, in their news broadcasts, have been inciting violence in Ukraine and advocating for annexation of parts of sovereign nations, such as Crimea in Ukraine, Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia, and Transdniestria in Moldova. The head of a Russian government news agency has recently said that Russia could cover the US in “radioactive ash”.

According to the Supreme Court case of Brandenburg v. Ohio, speech “directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action” is illegal. These channels routinely incite violent and seditious acts by presenting the revanchist actions of Russia as a model to be emulated worldwide. They are war propaganda machines posing as news channels and rearing potential traitors among our newest citizens.
