Sway the British Coalition & any subsequent Government to bury the recently found remains of Richard 3rd in York minster

Created by T.L. on February 06, 2013

Richard 3rd was raised in Middleham castle in Wensleydale. (as in the cheese) He was pivotal in the war of the roses. He was the last king of the house of York (White Rose), and the last king of the Plantaganet dynasty. Also the last king to die in battle. His body was found under a Leicester (pronounced Lester) carpark. some 12 miles from the site of the battle of Bosworth where he died. He was a staunch Yorkist, indeed it was his dying wish to be buried in his native Yorkshire. The thrust of this petition is to garner international opinion to return his remains, hopefully with a state funeral to his home county Yorkshire, and the county town of York. And not to allow reinterrment to happen in Leicester, merely because he happened to be cruelly slain there. Richard 3rd died in 1485.
