The Presidential Oath of Office for this Secular Nation goes like this;
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
It is time to abolish and end the antiquated practice of swearing in on the Bible, a Christian religious tool, and instead begin the with the President swearing in on the very thing he takes an oath to "Preserve, Protect and Defend", the United States Constitution. This petition is requesting that the inauguration of 2013 be done in a manner appropriate to the times with tools contemporary to that aim.
