Switch to $1 coin, get rid of the $2 bill and use the money saved to create a national identification program.

Created by J.W. on April 24, 2013

Coins last longer and wouldn't need to be minted every year like paper money and nobody ever knows what to do with a two dollar bill except have it tucked away for years until they come across again while cleaning. The money saved could be used to make a national id system. It would replace the current paper social security cards we have now. It would be issued at birth like it is now and it would help ensure that only American citizens vote during elections. You could slide the card at the poll and it wouldn't discriminate against the poor and elderly like people claim because everybody would get one.
