This is a petition to join the rest of the world in the use of the metric system as our basis for measurement. The units that the US customary units use are illogical, whereas the metric system is very logical.
Likewise, there are now only 3 countries that don't use the metric system, and so this, I feel, will lead to much unnecessary misunderstandings between us and the majority of the international community.
