Tackle climate change by committing to reduce emissions 20% by 2020, sign the Kyoto agreement and put a price on carbon.

Created by B.M. on October 18, 2012

President Obama writes that, "Climate change is the one of the biggest issues of this generation".

2012 is likely to be the hottest year ever recorded, climate-related disaster costs have increased 5-fold and farmers are in the worst drought in 50 years. These changes have been clearly linked to rising greenhouse gas emissions from human activities.

The US is the second largest greenhouse gas emitter, producing 18% of the global total. It is also the one of the few developed countries to have failed to take action to reduce its emissions. Many other countries are reluctant to act until the US commits to firm targets and puts a price on carbon pollution.

For our children's sake, sign this petition asking the Government to commit to reduce emissions and put a price on carbon.
