Take the $5 billion fine that was just imposed upon banks and redistribute it to school systems in the United States.

This petition would request that the President use his executive power to take the 5 billion dollars recently imposed as a fine against major banks in the United States and redistribute it to the many public school districts in the nation. If divided up by the approximately 13,700 schools in the nation, each district would receive approximately $365,000, a nice bump to ailing budgets. If divided among the 50 states, each would get $100,000,000. I request that the government not let this get caught up in political debate or an argument about which state or district needs it the most. Divide it up evenly, give it away with the requirement that the money is spent on public education, and don't look back. The money well be better used than if it sits in a general fund.
