There needs to be protocol put into place to help individuals that are seriously struggling to pay their student loan debts. In this economy six months to a year is no longer enough time to find a stable career even for the most successful graduates and individuals should not be forced to pay insurmountable amounts of debt during times of harship. I believe that an individual should not have to begin paying back their student loans, federal or private, until they have the means to enable them to do so and still live comfortably in all other aspects of life. There should be no reason that American citizens are being forced to default on their loans and ruin multiple aspects of their lives because they could not find a stable career to support their every growing student loan debt.
