Take action to balance the budget and promote jobs at the same time, with an international sales tax initiative.

Created by W.B. on September 25, 2011

The President should use the weight of the White House to ask Congress to pass a 10% international sales tax on all imported products. Doing so will raise over $250 billion per year, cutting our budget deficit on the backs of foreign manufacturers, rather than as an increase in taxes on Americans. It will further encourage holders of capital to invest in domestic production, creating an incentive for the creation of jobs in the United States. It will also tend to increase wages American workers can demand, and reduce unemployment.
