Sudan has been experiencing a lot of issues with civil war and resources because when the boarders were drawn two completely different groups were pushed together. During this time of unrest people in the province of Darfur are being murdered. America has called it a genocide and the Geneva Convention forces them to take action. The problem is this is the first time this issue has arisen and little has been done to stop the genocide. More aggressive action should be taken not just for the people of Darfur but for possible future events of genocide. Right now the stage is being set for what we should do when an issue is proclaimed genocide. Even though we will get little to no economic gain from intervening this is a humanitarian issue that needs to be addressed more forcefully.
