Declawing is a borderline abusive practice that can cause cats extreme pain. Declawing is considered animal cruelty in many other countries, so why not the United States? This operation completely removes some or all of the distal phalanges, completely mutilating the paw of the cat in question. Complications from the onychectomy operation include hemorrhaging, tissue damage and nerve damage of the surrounding area. Please do away with this disgusting, archaic practice and save the cats of America from future harm.
