The BCS is a cartel whose purpose is to enrich bowl committees at the expense of the universities whose teams participate. No real effort is made to ensure the best matchups -- just the ones that will enrich the bowls the most. Teams are required to eat the cost of huge chunks of tickets while their fans are encouraged by the bowls to visit the secondary market. Bowls are run by the bowl committees for the benefit of the bowl committees and little or no actual "charity results". We need a playoff NOW to bring competitive results to the search for a true football national champion and dispense with the BCS sham.
