If we can go to other countries to protect and combat those who threaten the safety of civilians, then we should be able to do the same in our own country. Although the ‘homicide’ rate decreased for 2014 in Chicago, the amount of shootings still increased. When you read Chicago news, there is not a day where numbers of people are not shot standing on a sidewalk, sitting in a car, sitting on their porch…etc. It is outrageous and ridiculous that this type of violence has continued to run and reign in our streets. It is unfathomable that we, as a country, have been unable to stop it. Young kids are being recruited to join gangs and commit violence. Something needs to be done now.
