An Egyptian court has sentenced 528 innocent men to death, most in their absence, following a grossly unfair mass trial. President and his supporters were jailed illegally for some of the protests.
This mass trial represents the largest number of death sentences handed down in one case in recent years. It is a grotesque example of the shortcomings and selective nature of Egypt's justice system.
Egypt's authorities mainly replaced by military are quick to kill Morsi and supporters to get rid of them from the political arena forever, but have ignored gross human rights violations by the security forces. The convicted men are supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
We want US Government to take serious action to prevent such executions.
