The ironically named Patriot Act was a knee-jerk reaction to the events of 9/11. It was pushed through congress via the use of euphemistic wording and bullying of the executive branch in place at the time. It is the most decisive suppression of American civil liberties since the ratification of the bill of rights, and should not be tolerated by the American people or anyone in office whom we trust to uphold our rights as citizens.
