Nadya Tolokno and Maria Alyokhina are members of punk rock band and activist group Pussy Riot. On March 3, 2012, they were arrested, and later charged of "hooliganism" for their peaceful protest inside the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Since then, they have been imprisoned under brutal, inhumane conditions. Nadya Tolokno has been transferred from prisons on numerous occasions, and frequently will vanish for several weeks, the most probably reason being her speaking out against prison conditions in Russia. These two women were arrested for expressing their views and because of that, they are being treated inhumanly in Russian prisons. We as Americans who claim to believe in "liberty and justice for all" should make every attempt to free them.
