Syrian government has been holding civilians in multiple locations under siege for months now. People are starving and dozens have died from hunger and trying to escape. This is not only an awful crime for the standards of XXI century's society, but also a violation of Rule 53 of international law that prohibits "to starve civilians as a method of warfare."
This is not the first time Syrian government is committing such a terrible atrocity against it's own people: in 2013, it had violated international law by using chemical weapons. UN is trying to provide humanitarian help, but Syrian government prevents anyone from helping.
