Take all necessary actions to immediately free Mariam Yahya Ibrahim, and bring her and her family safely to the U.S.

Created by R.B. on May 17, 2014

On May 15, 2014 the Sudanese government sentenced Mariam Yahya Ibrahim to 100 lashes of the whip, followed by death by hanging for refusing to recant her faith and daring to marry the person she loved. These are some of the most basic rights inherent to humankind. Rights that Americans have fought and died to secure. Rights that a president takes an oath to defend.

Mariam is the wife and mother of American citizens. It is unconscionable for the United States to stand idly by and abandon this family in their darkest hour. It is imperative that the Administration act with unflinching resolve and the utmost urgency to bring the full resources of the Executive Branch to bear.

Mr. President: secure the release of Mariam Ibrahim and deliver this family from the grasp of a totalitarian regime.
