Take away the ability for Congress to establish its own pay.

Allowing someone to establish their own pay is wrong because people naturally want to give themselves more than they deserve. That is why we have bosses that determine how much we deserve to be paid. Congress works for the American people and we deserve the right to set their pay give them raises (if they deserve it), and dock it (if they make too many mistakes.) I recommend a popular vote every 2 years to determine any change in congressional pay. Since this would have to be voted on by congress it will never happen but perhaps if enough people think about this maybe we can come up with a way.
