In the new math standards, the students are supposed to figure out how to do the work correctly. Then they are supposed to find there own way to get the correct answer. Kids don't just walk into their class and all the sudden know how to do a whole new segment. It will confuse students later on through the year. The teachers are there for a reason. They need to teach us. We need to learn how to do it from the teachers. Some kids won't understand the lesson very easy so they need someone to teach it to them. Go back to where the teachers do their job by actually teaching the students.
