Law enforcement took an oath to protect and serve US citizens. If, for any reason, an officer is under an investigation for violating his oath he should not get an income. The choice that was made in that moment, the officer did not think about his career or the US citizen. Its too many careless mistakes that are made by law enforcement like wrecks that are caused by not having sirens alerting a civilian driving or flashing lights visible to a civilian, reckless police brutality of shooting unarmed black men or roughly conduct on a victim that is already on the ground.
