Children these days (mine included) should not have to worry about how they fare in relation to others. Many states have standardized testing systems in which kids are scaled, and virtually told how "smart" they are.
This is completely irrational, as kids each learn at their own pace. Just because one child doesn't know a fact doesn't make him/her stupid -- it just means (s)he will learn it at a later time.
Kids shouldn't be told how they rank, especially at young ages, when they are just beginning to learn.
We the people of the United States petition the Obama Administration to abolish all statewide standardized testing.
