take criminals out of the drug trade by federally stopping the War on Drugs. Do away with the DEA and replace with FDA.

This petition's intent is to do away with government making decisions for what types of drugs we are allowed to take (President Nixon started this war and he was removed from office for lying and cheating...is this who we really want to follow?) There are so many unnecessary and unwanted side effects with our current pharmaceuticals that people should be warned that there are natural alternatives to the current bookshelf of drugs in the market. Marijuana and mushrooms both treat depression and are natural but because of the laws, people do not have ready access to them. Although last year alone, over 10,000 people died of Wellbutrin alone. I don't know what the guy was taking that shot up the school but I'm sure it was one of the drugs our current laws says is OK as long as taken as rx.
