In the digital age cursive handwriting is becoming less and less important. The American school children could benefit from other areas of learning during the time that they would normally be practicing cursive. If we want to keep our students at the top of the world, let's stop teaching them archaic skills and help them learn something that will benefit them in the future.
Why I feel this way:
The only use of cursive in my day to day life is limited to people's signatures and my grandmother's recipes. I've spent many hours practicing cursive in grade school but have never experienced writing with it in the real world.
My personal replacement suggestions:
-Typing
-Programming
-Math games
-Science projects
