J.J. Abrams may be selected to direct the new Star Wars movies. Given the damage that he has already done to Star Trek, we feel that allowing him to direct episodes VII-IX could do irreparable damage to a major national economic asset and global cultural treasure, and could deal a significant blow to America 'soft power' and thus lessen our ability to fight the war on terror.
Decisive action, like an executive order or an injunction, is needed to prevent this looming national catastrophe. Restrictions on free speech can be justified in extraordinary circumstances such as when it presents "a clear and present danger" (Schenck v US) or when it is likley to provoce a "hostile ausience reaction" (Terminiello v Chicago) in this case angry nerds rioting over the damage to a beloved film series.
