Take a deeper look into the USCG polar ice breaker program.

The last ice breaker to be commissioned for the U.S. was in 1999. As the arctic becomes more accessible to all marine traffic and the exploration and drilling for oil becomes more prolific it would be in the best interest of the United States to create more ice breakers and vessels capable of the Arctic and Antarctic climates. As it stands we only have 2 vessels that are in service and able to do so.
As nations such as China and Russia continue to build more and more ice breakers and are more capable for handling arctic incidents we continue to take a back seat in this portion of our world.
When we have the worlds largest navy by far but think we cant handle this is pathetic. Please consider giving more funding to the USCG to fix this problem.
