From 9/11 to the Sandy Hook shooting to the storms of Hurricane Sandy and the hail storms over Boulder, Colorado, WBC (Westboro Baptist Church) has laughed in America's face, citing the reason behind these tragedies as God's retribution for America's sinful support of homosexuality, Catholicism, Hinduism, Islam, and anything that is not their own viewpoint.
While the religion and its practitioners are entitled to their American rights as dictated in the Bill of Rights, these rights do not extend to the point of defaming individuals or social groups and spewing hate to the world.
I am calling for the White House to make a public statement decrying the WBC and what they stand for. We need a call for action against this "church" that opposes the American ideals of acceptance and unity.
