Although the right to "petition the Government for a redress of grievences" is a fundamental part of the Constitution, this website and process belittles the meaning of that right. Having "White House staff" . . . review [a citizen petition], ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response" is an empty exercise that, if actually followed, uses resources that could better be employed elsewhere. This website exists for the sole purpose of generating media coverage of inane ideas or puff pieces about the administration's responsiveness to citizen concerns--when said response has no actual meaning. This is an unserious waste.
